The Mundus Journalism Erasmus Mundus Scholarship is a fully funded, two-year master’s programme for aspiring journalists and media professionals worldwide. Hosted by a consortium of leading European universities, this prestigious degree combines rigorous academic training with practical skills development, international mobility, and a vibrant global network.
Overview
The joint Master in Journalism, Media and Globalisation spans two years. In Year 1, all students study at Aarhus University (Denmark). In Year 2, students choose one of several partner institutions—such as Charles University in Prague, which offers a specialisation in “Totalitarianism & Transition.”
The curriculum covers:
- Media in post-totalitarian societies
- Audiovisual and data journalism
- Foreign correspondence
- Globalisation and media ethics
The programme culminates in an independent master’s thesis, giving students a chance to conduct in-depth research on a topic of their choice.
Eligibility
To qualify for the Mundus Journalism Scholarship, applicants must:
- Hold a relevant bachelor’s degree (minimum three years) in Arts, Humanities, Social Sciences or a closely related field.
- Have at least three months of documented full-time journalistic experience (internships, paid or unpaid work).
- Demonstrate high proficiency in English (IELTS, TOEFL or Cambridge scores, unless exempt).
- Possess an above-average GPA or class mark.
- Be available to start on 1 September 2026.
Applicants from China, India and Vietnam may also need an APS Certificate for admission to certain partner universities.
